Evolution of the Lee Alex Waistcoat

Hi Lee Alex,

It would be nice to know the evolution of your waistcoat creation. How did you discover this? What were your first attempts. Could you share some pictures of your old waistcoat designs.

Thanks in advance!

Re: Evolution of the Lee Alex Waistcoat

The waistcoat came out of necessity for a corporate event here in Turkey. Orignally it was three colours, the final one being a new logo for the company. Unfortunately I do not have this any more!

I then added a single colour change to my own show for use with the Asssistants Revenge illusion. This was balck to red.

Originally there were no "edges" to the waistcoat. These were added as a "security" measure.

The edges under the arms were also added at a later stage too before the final product was created.

The idea for the red, white and blue to a flag was just an inspiration to make the effect more appealing. Originally the waistcoat was called "The Patriotic Waistcoat".

It was requests from German magicians thatgave the idea of a more universal striped finally, and after this the "patriotic" word was dropped to bring the "Colour Changing Waistcoat".

The striped design has been the most popular!

This is a great invention Lee Alex. I have never seen this method in any book, manuscript, video or dvd.
I am having fun as I progress everyday.
I hope all the success with this great product! Thanks for sharing this with us.
It is definitely worth it for the working magician like me. Another good thing about it is, it is very secure and it can be worn the whole time during a show.
I hope you will come up with more designs in the future.
