Sliver of red showing

I've noticed, in my practicing, that I have a sliver of red showing (red being the first color that the waistcoat start with) when I do the change.

I've tried tightening the waist belt (the belt in back of the vest), I've tried more carefully changing the color and I've even tried simply stopping and trying to get the "you know whats" to line up differently. No help.

While this isn't an issue when a jacket is worn, it is an issue when using the vest alone (and I normally take my jacket off half way through my stand up act).

The other colors hide very well, but that sliver of red is annoying, at best.

Any suggestions?

Mike.

Mike,

This is the first time that I have come across this problem, as obviously the material is cut to be exactly the same size no matter what the colour (for obvious reasons). I have also checked each piece individually before it went out to dispatch.

Can you be more precise as to where exactly the red shows?

I would also say that tightening the back will increase the color showing as you will be pulling the waistcoat/vest out of alignment.

Is it at all possible that you can send a picture of this to me (preferably privately so as to avoid any exposure!), then I will be able to see exactly what the problem is and how it might be resolved.

Re: Sliver of red showing

I've tried different levels of tightness, Lee, including simply leaving the belt unbuckled, just hanging. The amount of red showing simply does not change, at all (unless I go really tight with the belt and, at that point, it does cause a bit of extra red to show). So, the problem lies not in the belt or the tightness thereof.

The red shows (and it really is just a sliver, but enough to be seen) at the right arm's shoulder area, to the front, where the ball joint of the arm is. I'll try to get pictures, but it will take a [sign in to see URL] have my trip to England coming up in less than two weeks, so I'm really rather busy at this point.

Not to worry, Brother. Adapt and overcome is my motto, so I'm working with the vest to try to overcome this little difficulty. And, it really IS a little difficulty.

Mike.

My red also slightly shows after I turn it into white. What I did was to sew that part of the m***** on that upper side by pushing it towards the other side. You will notice there is still a 1/4" clearance that you can adjust and sew.

Another way you can remedy this is, after you do the switch, you casually, curl your fingers inside the chest neckline (as if holding your lapels proudly) and pushing the exposed color in.
